OutRight got Sequoia
OutRight, a sorta-kinda Indinero competitor, got Sequoia Capital funding. It’s a little scary in many ways for Indinero I think — I mean, Outright *is* the furthest along among people with similar products, including LessAccounting. And they definitely have a crazy awesome team (all ex-Intuit employees) — that and they’re full-time, unlike us silly college students.
But Google and Yahoo both got funding from Sequoia within two years of each other. After all, isn’t it true that market wins? A smart venture capitalist wouldn’t hesitate to invest in multiple competitors in the same market provided that the market has promise — because seriously in terms of funding Yahoo and Google, Sequoia made money in both cases. That, and Andy and Jess are going to go full-time soon enough
Jess says Cihan might let us rent his house again for the summer. If that’s the case, it will be three of us in the same place again. Apparently Arielle and L’awesomeguy (can’t spell his name right) will live where they live, so it’s all good.
Now, all that’s left is to see if they can pay me for the summer so I can work there (I can’t work without a competitive salary, my parents wouldn’t let me + I don’t think I would want to because I need to pay college tuition, and I’m applying for paid internships at Yahoo among places).
I’m pretty excited for the summer. If I end up in the Berkeley area, I’ll have to see whether I can take some classes to fulfill some reqs a bit early. I wonder if I can take physics there?
